Each year, The University of Tartu Art Museum takes part in Science Town, a popular science promoting event during the Hanseatic Days. For a few July days during the summer you can participate in a workshop in Science Town, which introduces a small fragment of the Antique Era.
Science Town first opened its doors in summer 2011 and it is hosted by the University of Tartu Museum. During the Hanseatic Days, Science Town aims to promote science among the townspeople and guests. This is done through various exciting activities, which instil interest in science in the young and enable adults to get acquainted with both the historical and contemporary achievements of Estonian science.
The topic of the 2014 Hanseatic Days was “Epochal Jamboree” and The University of Tartu Art Museum helped add some antique air in a contemporary way. In 2013, the Museum introduced the aromas of the Antique Era, taking its visitors back in time through their sense of smell.
