Coins

The University of Tartu Art Museum’s coin collection is a result of random donations after World War II. The numismatic collection consists of over 300 Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Russian and other coins from the 18–20th centuries and 35 silver and copper coins from mostly Hellenistic Greece. The Museum’s collection used to have more original antique coins but they were evacuated in 1915 to Russia, to escape World War I, and are now in Voronezh Regional Art Museum.
